When I’m not writing novels, I spend a lot of time with dogs. There’s my own dog, Reno, and then there are the foster dogs we often have around. Our current foster is Daisy, a sweet little pup who came to the shelter with a skin condition that requires treatment before she can be adopted. And then there’s the doggy website I created and help maintain for an organization I volunteer with, saccountydogs.com, which helps promote dogs at the shelter (mostly pit bulls and mixes) who may not have the easiest time getting adopted. A few volunteer photographers take awesome glamour shots of the dogs, and then I and another volunteer write bios about them, and we create a webpage for each dog.
