How did I end up writing a story about three sisters? I’m an only child, after all, utterly sisterless. The truth is, we only children really envy people who have siblings, and I’ve always been fascinated by sibling relationships. I observe them in my friends, my family, and my own children, noting all the ways such relationships benefit us and drive us mad.
